Tech Discovery is the first step of the building process. Transmuter has a friendly conversation with you to understand your product’s needs and choose the right technology to power it.
You do not need any technical knowledge for this step. Every question comes with visual option cards and plain-language explanations. If you are unsure, pick the recommended option — Transmuter defaults to industry best practices.

How it works

1

Start the conversation

From your project page, click Start Plan Cast. Transmuter opens a chat-style interface and begins by reading your business plan.
2

Review the plan summary

Transmuter shows you a summary of what it understood from your business plan — the key features, target users, and product type. Confirm this is accurate, or provide corrections.
3

Answer a few questions

Based on what your business plan does not already cover, Transmuter asks 5-10 simple questions. For example:
  • “Will your users need to log in with their existing Google or company accounts?”
  • “Do you need to accept payments from your customers?”
  • “Should your product work on mobile devices?”
Each question shows 2-4 visual option cards. Pick the one that fits best, or type a custom answer.
If a question does not make sense, you can skip it. Transmuter will make a reasonable choice and note the assumption.
4

Review technology recommendations

After the conversation, Transmuter presents its technology recommendations in plain language. For example, instead of “Next.js with Convex backend,” you might see “A fast, modern web application with real-time updates and secure data storage.”You can approve the recommendations or ask to see alternatives.
5

Confirm and continue

Once you approve the technology setup, Transmuter saves it and prompts you to connect your cloud accounts (if you have not already).

What if I am technical?

If you selected “Developer” during onboarding, you can enable Developer View from your settings. In Developer View, Tech Discovery shows technical details like framework names, database options, and configuration specifics.

Can I change the technology later?

The technology setup is locked once building begins, because the entire product is built around it. If you want to use different technology, you can create a new project with the same business plan and make different choices during Tech Discovery.

How long does it take?

Tech Discovery typically takes 5-15 minutes, depending on how detailed your business plan is. Plans that already cover technology preferences (even in non-technical language) result in fewer questions.
